What You Bring to the Team: 


Position Requirements  

  • Bachelor's Degree or master's degree in Computer science or similar. 
  • 8 years of IBM MQ, Message Broker Administration and Technology Experience 
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Occasional after hours on call to support  
  • Time management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as needed to collaborate and work with multiple teams. 


Required Skills: 



  • Working knowledge of WebSphere MQ distributed queuing environment 
  • Working knowledge of WebSphere MQ 9.0/9.1 on different platforms like, Solaris & Windows 
  • Experience installing and upgrading WebSphere MQ on Solaris and Windows 
  • Experience working with IBM vendor for any product-related issues and apply the fix 
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of SSL for Queue managers and Message Broker 
  • Manage day-to-day integration work Including design, architecture, and delivery of middleware integrations 
  • Up to date knowledge of industry trends, IT ops and industry best practices 
  • Build tools to automate, deploy, monitor, and manage production systems 
  • Manage code deployments, fixes, updates, and related processes 
  • Automate operational processes as needed 
  • Working knowledge of JMS, configuring JBOSS 


MQ programming 

  • Setting MQ triggering, monitoring, and defining MQ objects in Unix, Windows Platforms 
  • Security exits and SSL certificate management for MQ for existing and new application environment 
  • Ability to write programs (Java/C/C++/Unix) to get, qbrowseqput messages to queues 
  • Design and write programs to use MQ C++ Classes & MQI across the different WebSphere MQ platforms 
  • Understand, in detail, the different MQ functions  


IBM IIB (Message Broker) 

  • Experience in IBM Integration Bus 10.0, WebSphere Message Broker 
  • Experience in installing, migrating upgrading of IBM Integration Bus 10.0, WebSphere Message Broker 
  • Create and manage MQ QM/Message Broker IIB infrastructure 
  • Perform MQ/MB Performance Monitoring, identify performance bottlenecks, and provide administrative solutions  
  • Load balancing of the IIB/MQ traffic 
  • Create and maintain IIB nodes/Integration Servers 
  • Troubleshoot Infrastructure and Application issues related to MQ/MB  
  • Own/Prepare Root Cause Analysis for Major incidents/problems 
  • Familiar with general security concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption, digital signatures, etc.), SSL, Web Service Proxies, XML firewalls, multi-protocol gateways 
  • Experience in Middleware development and support of IBM Integration Bus 10.0, WebSphere Message Broker 
  • Experience in version control, building bar files, overriding properties, and deploying message flows 
  • Experience in Disaster Recovery 


UNIX Scripts 

  • Develop & understand Unix scripts 
  • Develop & understand Unix scripts with SQL Programming 



  • Develop and understand triggers 
  • Develop and understand stored procedures 
  • Develop and understand SQL functions 
  • PLSQL programming 


Knowledge in ERP Infor LN 

  • Application knowledge in Sales, Warehousing, Purchasing 
  • LN Exchange module 


Knowledge in WMS 

  • Install WMS patches 
  • Install NGS patches 
  • Monitor data to/from WMS (middleware queues and flows) 
  • WMS data refresh 
  • WMS day-to-day technical administration 
  • WMS functional administration (when required) 
  • Build new WMS site(s) 
  • Work with Snap-on Business Team and Aptean Support Team 
  • Troubleshoot issues with WMS and connected applications (Middleware, ConnectShipFastFetch, Integration Point) 
  • Disaster Recovery 


Knowledge in Sterling Integrator 

  • Maintains customers EDI outbound (855,856 and 810) routing tables in middleware 
  • Sterling Integrator start/stop during schedule maintenance 
  • Sterling Integrator upgrading/installation 
  • Search and get customers EDI/XML data from SI archive folders 
  • Work on external Linux scripts
