Overview

Responsible for all aspects of forecasting, planning and purchasing for both domestic and international assigned suppliers.  Oversee the functions of forecasting, demand management, inventory planning, purchase/warehouse order release, transaction execution and expediting to support corporate service level and inventory turn objectives.  The role focuses both internal and external suppliers.  Supervise a team of 3 planners/buyers and expediters. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with various business groups to evaluate, load and manage current and future promotion demand plans.
  • Work with promotion planning, product management, sales teams to develop detail item level demand plan for assigned products.
  • Evaluate promotion plans with suppliers to ensure they can deliver on time.
  • For assigned group of products, evaluate, change and manage demand forecast for non-promotion items.
  • Establish, review, and maintain distribution centers replenishment planning parameters (order lead times, minimum order quantities, safety stock levels).
  • Monitor and analyze PC and VC performance against inventory and service level targets. Report exceptions and take corrective action.
  • Lead, analyze and report monthly Sales & Operational Planning meetings with internal and external suppliers.
  • Accountable for Operation Planning activities and performance. Inclusive of planning, forecasting and supervisory decisions.
  • Lead team of 3 buyer planners in the execution of these activities. Personal development of associates.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or related field with a strong analytical background.  Knowledge of business principles and issues.   MBA a plus.
  • 8 - 10 years experience in forecasting, production, purchasing, inventory control with demonstrated evidence of process improvement. 
  • Experience with manufacturing shop floor planning and execution.   Experience in purchasing operations for external suppliers.
  • APICS certification a plus
  • Advanced data query & manipulation skills.  Strong working knowledge of ERP software.  Infor SSA ERP software a plus.
