In this role you will:

  • Analyze inventory and supply chain data, use methods to predict and improve delivery of products to customers, while optimizing inventory utilization. 
  • Identify and define complex business problems utilizing data to drive future inventory and supply chain business strategies.
  • Develop business models and high-quality prediction systems, leveraging machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence tools to prioritize various improvement models for implementation.
  • Define and monitor success metrics to drive the greatest results for business improvement strategies. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead all data experiments for the Industrial business.
  • Provide previously undiscovered solutions to both data and operational challenges.
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, resource allocation, SG&A reduction, and inventory efficiency.
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities to leverage both company and external data to drive business solutions.
  • Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, identify areas for improvement.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Develop custom data models, machine learning algorithms, and AI to apply to data sets.
  • Develop processes, testing techniques and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Act as liaison between Industrial and Corporate I/T for development of business requirements for various systems and reports.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Passionate about new technologies with the ability to leverage them to add value to the business
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical resources and across functional boundaries
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, handling multiple tasks and projects, while meeting established deadlines
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Proactive, decisive, action-oriented individual
  • Thorough understanding of business operations
  • Proficient with one or more programming languages (Python, R, etc); experience using machine learning algorithms and AI Tools
  • Demonstrated experience applying data science methods to real-world data problems
  • Experience utilizing visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Working knowledge of corporate systems and databases: SSA LN, Data Warehouse, SQL, Snowflake, Access etc.
