KEY ACCOUNTIBILITY · Provides technical support to all members of a project team. Involved in building, testing, and documenting new designs as well as support of existing products. RESPONSIBILITIES · Manage time and deliverables with minimal supervision to meet project team objectives. · Build designs under the supervision of the design team. · Assist in product validation testing as directed. · Assist in preparation of documentation necessary to develop and release new designs. Learn and understand Company design and release processes. · Participate in engineering proto builds along with Operations, Development Engineers, and Contract manufacturers. · Assist in the debugging of prototype designs as well as troubleshooting current products. · Procure component parts as directed by design team. · Prepare information for design reviews. · Prepare design documentation required for product release. Maintain Bills of Material and cost estimates during the development process. · Follow company policies and procedures. · Other duties as assigned. | PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT· This is primarily an office based position requiring significant amount of PC use. · Light assembly and some heavy lifting. · May work on vehicles or in a shop environment. · Some travel required. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSEducation: · Associates degree or equivalent education or equivalent experience. Years of Experience: · Minimum 1 year relevant work experience. Other Requirements: · Ability to work directly with Customer Service, Operations and Sales on product related issues · Ability to use schematic capture tools to maintain existing schematics, or create new schematics. · Capable of determining root cause analysis of issues on designs of moderate complexity with assistance of design engineers. · Basic understanding of how our products are used by our Customers. Capable of demonstrating use of products. · Familiar with current manufacturing processes and the hardware and software testing tools associated with them. · Assist in determining cause of Customer complaints and product returns. · Can utilize structured troubleshooting processes such as 8D.
