Responsible for the Design and development of automotive alignment products. Including Quality improvements (Rapid Continuous Improvements) to existing products.
Responsibilities
Provide mechanical design and development of new products or product enhancements for the automotive equipment industry. Must be able to work in a team environment with engineers from other disciplines and nationalities.
Prepare thorough and accurate documentation for release to manufacturing and for internal product design records. Maintain an engineering notebook to document work activity in support of company’s patent goals.
Test and validate alignment products to assure good product performance and high standard of quality.
Work with manufacturing and service personnel to resolve problems and improve manufacturability and serviceability of products.
Work with manufacturing engineering on Rapid Continuous Improvement initiatives to reduce product cost and/or improve performance of designs.
Develop a deep understanding of the company’s products and their applications.
Qualifications
BSME or BSMET degree. Preference with minimum 2 years design experience.
Up to date knowledge in mechanical design. Including the design of plastic molded parts, metal castings, sheet metal, and assembly techniques.
Capable of performing engineering analysis and other related calculations to support mechanical designs.
Basic understanding of complementary technical disciplines.
Able to work with other team members and with minimal supervision.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Must possess good time management and organizational skills.
Must possess good problem solving and analytical skills.
Must be able to demonstrate initiative.
Must be proficient in the use of the computer for design and testing. CREO solid modeling or similar 3D package.
