Overview

Position Summary

 

The Innovation Intern will support Snap-on’s innovation efforts by conducting research, facilitating customer connection initiatives, and managing certain outreach projects. They will lead research to be presented to internal stakeholders of Snap-on or its subsidiaries. Additionally, the intern will take the lead on various customer connection efforts such as organizing shop visits and recruiting participants for focus groups. As a key member of the Customer Connection team, the individual in this role will assist in the consolidation and reporting of insights and further findings from focus groups and other research methods.

Responsibilities

KEY TASKS

  • Conduct research on customer needs, industry trends, and competitor products.
  • Develop research reports and presentations for internal stakeholders from across Snap-on’s portfolio of subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate with product managers to translate insights into actionable next steps.
  • Engage with end-users via visits, surveys, and phone calls to aid in ongoing research at Snap-on.
  • Review progress and coordinate with the appropriate internal team on an ongoing basis to maintain essential communication.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations within Innovation Works. Examples include frequent shipping, maintaining the presentability of various the Innovation Works space, recruiting for customer connection events via email, text, or calls.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Candidate must be enrolled in their junior or senior year in college.
  • Ability to synthesize and present research findings in a clear, actionable format.
  • Customer-centric mindset: passionate about understanding end-user needs.
  • Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative problem solver: Ability to generate innovative ideas from research insights.
  • Strong time management: Ability to balance multiple tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented: Strong attention to detail when communicating with the team.
  • Adaptable and resourceful: Comfortable taking initiative in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Data visualization skills (Excel, etc.)
  • Some travel required
  • Timely completion of tasks.
  • Project tracking and follow-ups.
  • Effective communication with Customer Connection team.
