Position Summary:

Snap-on Crystal Lake is seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanic. This position will inspect, repair and maintain the facility and equipment; perform carpentry, electrical, mechanical and other related work involved in maintaining the building and equipment. The position will also work with vendors and contractors that render service to the facility. The hours for the position will be 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm Monday through Friday plus overtime as needed. 

Responsibilities

  • Daily inspection and maintenance of the following systems:
    • wastewater treatment system
    • potable water system
    • steam generation system
    • Fire Protection System
  • Perform general maintenance and maintain building maintenance.
  • Contact vendors/contractors when necessary.
  • Perform carpentry and constructions assignments when necessary.
  • Oversee ice/snow removal and lawn work.
  • Perform routine mechanical/electrical repair.
  • Provide safe working conditions for all employees.
  • Complete special assignments given by management.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain IL EPA Class K Wastewater License and Potable Water License.
  • Knowledge of boiler operations/steam generated systems.
  • Electrical and mechanical experience.
  • Ability to obtain company forklift license.
  • Ability to read and write and have basic math aptitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be dependable, organized and flexible.
