Snap-on Incorporated is seeking an entry level Risk Intern in its Corporate Risk Department.  The primary responsibility of this role is to provide financial support for month end closing of our in-house insurance programs for the company’s captive insurance company, audit support for the department and litigation support for the claims department.

  • Learn and Complete month-end balancing of the in-house insurance company financials.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics for both personnel and workloads.  Analyze and summarize data for management use.   
  • Review audit reports for the agency and claims department and follow up and correct items as needed.
  • Assist in preparation of financial presentations and reports for internal key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with auditors during the financial audit process and provide necessary documentation.
  • Files correspondence and legal documents in office filing system.
  • Ensures proper indexing and filing of original legal documents.
  • Conduct audits of policies issued by the agency.
  • Product Safety Committee assistant - responsible for agenda, note taking and minutes.  Research topics; organize large amounts of data and follow up during the month for action items.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Second year student with an intent to secure a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Legal or related field.
  • Computer skills with knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal, analytical, and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers
