Overview

Customer Service-Technical is the first line of defense for our customers calling in that are having mechanical difficulties with the operation of our brake lathe equipment.  These calls are critical as most often they are in the middle of repairing a customer’s vehicle and we need to get their equipment back up and running to maintain a positive experience for their customers as well.  In addition, we diagnose and repair all equipment that is returned to us for warranty or non-warranty purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical phone support to all customers and account reps including Distributors, Schools, OEM’s and other sales and service organizations.
  • Brake lathe troubleshooting to determine required equipment repairs necessary.
  • Diagnose and determine parts needed for customers’ lathes and process shipment orders.
  • Create service call and dispatch to area authorized rep.
  • Log in returned lathes or parts for QC testing.
  • Set up, inspect and evaluate functionality of equipment and parts, and repair as needed.
  • Determine if lathes and parts will be used, refurbish for resale, recycle or disposal.
  • Prepare all documentation regarding test results and movement of defined inventory disposition.
  • Maintain used/refurbished lathe and parts inventories in an organized fashion for easy resale, by part number.
  • Organize all equipment, parts and tools into proper location.
  • Report any damaged, missing or replacement tools to be purchased to Supervisor.
  • Tool boxes are closed and locked.
  • All debris is cleaned up and floor is swept.
  • Brake lathes and other equipment are off and unplugged unless required to remain on.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; 2-3 years customer service experience.
  • Must possess Mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Working knowledge and undstanding of computers
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work 8-5 M-F, punctual and team player

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to use hands to manipulate, handle and feel.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs, occasionally life and/or move up to 55 lbs.
  • Specific vision requirements include close and color.
