Snap-on Elizabethton, Tennessee is seeking a Quality Control Technician.

 

Position Summary:            The Quality Control Technician who, in support of and under the direction of the Quality Control Manager, analyzes and solves quality problems, assists in the maintenance of the ISO Quality Management System, performs product performance testing, performs audits, maintains the gauge calibration system, and applies fundamental statistical methods for process control.         

Responsibilities

KEY TASKS

 

* Maintains the Calibration System. Calibrates gauges, coordinates outside calibration services, and maintains all records. Designs gauges for new and existing products and processes. Specifies, sources and requisitions gauges and measurement equipment.

 

*Uses various types of inspection and testing equipment to evaluate product performance, product compliance, and process variation.  

 

*Collects data, performs statistical analysis, and reports results.

 

*Analyzes and solves quality problems.

 

*Checks in-coming samples and tooling, reports results, and (as appropriate) initiates and tracks corrective actions requests.

 

*Prepares and maintains inspection procedures and instructions.

 

*Assist with the maintenance of the ISO9001 Quality Management System.

 

*Assists employees in the application of Inspection procedures.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

*High School diploma or equivalent and 1 – 3 years manufacturing experience.

 

*Specialized training equal to 2 years of college or an associate degree in a technical field to gain applicable skills and knowledge, including technical math, statistical methods, and quality assurance.

 

*Experience using 3D software to design gauges and fixturing.

 

*Hands-on production experience for at least two years to include blueprint reading, use of micrometers, calipers, angle gages, height gages, hardness tester, optical comparator, torque tester, and data collection equipment.

 

*Must have leadership qualities and work well in a

team environment.

 

*Basic computer skills.

 

*American Society for Quality (ASQ) CMI, CQT, CCT certification would be a plus.
