Overview

This position coordinates and supervises the production team, completes special projects for sales and engineering.  This position is the communication hub for all manufacturing operations.      

Responsibilities

 

  • Executes organizational directives and modifies individual and team goals to reflect such directives.
  • Represents the production team as necessary in planning/coordinating with peers and superiors in the organization.
  • Analyzes equipment and process designs, and recommends actions to iprove efficiency and cost.
  • Assists with overseeing the maintenance and repair of machinery.
  • Trains staff on how to use equipment.
  • May provide input to management regarding individual team member performance.
  • Leads and directs the work of all other department employees.
  • Has input regarding personnel decisions related to hiring, performance or disciplinary actions.
  • Assembles assigned product parts on assembly line/stations in accordance with production guidelines.
  • Performs spot checks of products to ensure the quality.
  • Reports problems with quality, equipment and material to Supervisors.
  • Performs work under minimal to no supervision.
  • Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Mechanical equipment manufacturing experience preferred, 4 to 6 years.
  • Machining/Inspection experience strongly desired, 4 to 6 years.
  • Familiarity with personal computers.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Good written and oral communication; ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English.
  • Understands basic math concepts and counts with accuracy.
  • Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Ability to use hands to manipulate, handle, and feel.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arms length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision.
