We presently have a full-time position for a Machine Operator at our Elkmont Manufacturing Plant. The ability to assemble product that meets productivity levels and quality standards. The
work to be performed is in a factory environment. The associate will be expected to assemble that product while operating within established workplace safety procedures. The product assembled will be of uncompromising quality to meet our commitment to passionate customer care. The work hours for this position are a third shift from 10:00 P.M. until 6:00 A.M. the following morning, Monday through Friday with required overtime as needed including on weekends.

Responsibilities

KEY TASKS

  • Sets up and operates metal fabricating machines to cut and form metal shapes according to blueprints and specifications: Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering
    specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
  • Positions and clamps stop, guides, and turntables. Adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors. 
  • Positions work against stops and guides or align layout marks with dies or cutting blades manually.
  • Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes.
  • Inspects or measures work, using ruler, gauges, and templates.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS AND EDUCATION


• High School diploma, G.E.D. and 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide.
• Perform work from drawings, specifications and formulas involving limited detail.
• Use and interpret measuring equipment.
• Good communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Must be aware and adhere to all company and departmental safety procedures and policies.
• Ability to work on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts.

• All candidates must be at least 18 years of age or older to apply and must have excellent command of the English language including reading, writing, and speaking.

 

PREFERRED


• Some assembly experience.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


• Must be able to lift to 35 pounds continuously for eight hours. Anything lifting above 35 pounds must have the assistance of another employee.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time during an eight-hour shift.
