Overview

Norbar Torque Tools, a member of the Snap-on Incorporated family of companies, is seeing a buyer to join our team. The buyer will purchase goods and services, maintain purchase data, adjust stocking levels to demand, and assist with vendor setup/maintenance. This role works closely with the engineering, sales groups, warehouse staff, and inter-company groups.

Responsibilities

• Purchases goods and services according to Norbar policies and procedures.
• Assist engineering and sales team with part number setup and maintenance.
• Plan and coordinate purchase from inter-company warehouses to support demand
• Update business system to maintain accurate delivery schedules.
• Evaluates usage and coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
• Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
• Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
• Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
• Coordinate addition of new vendors into the business system
• Maintain pricing histories and other vendor records.
• Assist with production planning.
• Assist with inventory control.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Capable of understanding basic manufacturing prints relative to purchase requirements

 

Education and Experience:
• Experience purchasing in an industrial manufacturing environment is highly desirable
• At least two years of purchasing experience required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is desirable.

 

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
