Overview

Transform product from annealed-machinable state to finished specification hardness. Operate weight scales, tow motor, wheelabrator, heat treat furnaces, generators, draw furnaces, wash, load transfer cart, nitrogen purge system, oil recovery system, Wilson hardness tester and overhead hoist. Operate compute and monitor timers, temperature controllers, set point burn off's and pilot lights. In charge of seeing that shim stock  samples and wash solution samples are taken to lab for analysis and titratsion. Able to plan ahead for loading and  processing product through Heat Treat furnace, wash and draws, unload product to Wheelabrator or into tubs to go on to next operation.  Able to fill out and keep good records and do other assigned work instructions.

Responsibilities

KEY TASKS

 

Operate weight scales, tow motor, wheelabrator, heat treat furnaces, generators, draw furnaces, wash, load transfer cart, nitrogen purge system, oil recovery system, Wilson hardness tester and overhead hoist.

 

Operate compute and monitor timers, temperature controllers, set point burn off's and pilot lights.

 

. In charge of seeing that shim stock  samples and wash solution samples are taken to lab for analysis and titratsion.

 

Uses moderate judgment to plan and perform work; makes decisions as to the  sequence of set ups, operations and processes within the limit of recognized or standard methods and procedures.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

                Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals and fractions; work from drawings, specificatins and   formulas involving limited detail; use and interpret measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers,

   scales, electric meters and oscilloscopes.

HS diploma or equivelent
