We are one Snap-on team. Assist with all duties to ensure budgetary control and attain the financial plan of the Division. Responsible for activities to support the ongoing accounting, closing, analyzing and reporting of information. Identify and analyze the variances between forecasted and actual results. Help to prepare consolidated financial statements and manage all aspects of the general ledger for the assigned areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ad-hoc, daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearend financial reports, closings, journal entries, and perform reconciliation, for both statutory requirements and management decision-making, budgets and forecasts, and conduct corresponding analysis in a timely, accurate and meaningful way.
• Review and advise on actions to financial/business systems and controls needed to maximize compliance, security, profitability, business effectiveness, growth, and accountability.
• Ensure the safeguarding of corporate assets and the effectiveness of their use. Provide leadership in Sarbanes Oxley compliance work.
• Analyze Divisional financial results, while providing recommendations to maintain and improve overall performance.
• Perform all other special assignments required to enhance business unit performance. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field
• At least 5 years of accounting experience within a corporate or other operational setting and/or a Big 4 or other reputable public accounting firm
• CPA or equivalent profession accreditation a plus but not required.
• Practical experience in cost accounting of at least 2 years.
• Excellent computer skills with knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office software, advanced Excel, and writing queries in Access or SQL. Experience with Hyperion and LN preferred but not required.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of general accounting and cost accounting, as well as advanced financial theory.
• Strong analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to act independently. Ability to supervise and effectively engage associates.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and adjust in a fastpaced work environment.
• Project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and work effectively with colleagues across departments, geographic locations, and time zones.
• Ability to prioritize and to focus on details with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
