Overview

Position Summary:  Utilizing the proper equipment, such as hand cart, or fork truck, a Material Handler must move material from designated storage locations to the operation being performed including setting up the material to the machine and restoring material to designated locations on completion of operations.  Duties also include weight counting and  providing identifying pan tags with the product; moving and dispersing scrap to proper bins and filling of billet hoppers in the forge area

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

 

Ability to read and write; add and subtract whole numbers; use reading and fixed gauges.

 

Understanding of production flow requirements, staging areas, product identification, and departmental locations.  Must be trained as a fork truck operator per OSHA requirements and standards.

 

Uses some judgment to comply with  instructions; work involves prescribed routines, methods or practices which allow for the making of minor decisions.
