3rd SHIFT Machine Operator

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring a variety of manufacturing equipment to produce quality parts in a safe and efficient manner. This position may operate conventional and CNC equipment, EDM drill equipment, and other machining equipment as assigned. The Machine Operator follows established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards to ensure products meet specifications.
CURRENT 3rd shift Work Schedule is Sun-Thurs, 10pm - 6:30am; OT as needed (Voluntary and/or Mandatory).
• Operate and monitor assigned machines and manufacturing equipment.
• Perform basic machining operations such as drilling, cutting, grinding, milling, turning, and other related processes.
• Operate CNC equipment, including loading/unloading materials, starting and monitoring machine cycles, and making basic adjustments as trained.
• Operate EDM drill equipment to produce holes and features according to established specifications.
• Read and follow work instructions, drawings, specifications, and routing information.
• Use basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment to verify part dimensions.
• Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet quality requirements.
• Identify machine or product issues and make appropriate adjustments within established guidelines or notify a Lead/Supervisor when assistance is needed.
• Load and unload materials and parts from machines safely and efficiently.
• Perform basic machine setup and changeover activities as trained.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Complete required production, quality, and inspection documentation accurately.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and required personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment or process issues and communicate concerns promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• HS diploma or equivalent
• Previous manufacturing, machining, or machine operating experience preferred
• Basic understanding of machining processes and manufacturing equipment
• Knowledge of blueprint interpretation including geometric tolerancing
• Knowledge of manufacturing including post (secondary) processes
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools
• Knowledge of various types of machining centers and machining practices
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools
• Demonstrates aptitude towards technical understanding and growth
• Effective communication skills (written and oral as well as the ability to interact with coworkers and other associates)
• Ability to comprehend oral and written instructions and execute those instructions accurately and timely
• Familiarity with continuous improvement processes and ability to communicate improvement ideas to managers is a plus
• Must be dependable and willing to adjust schedule and workload per business demands
• Must be able to work independently and in a team-oriented setting.
• Experience in fabrication or welding is a plus
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach and perform repetitive movements for extended periods. Ability to safely lift and handle material and parts as required by this position
• Willing to work overtime, including Saturdays as needed
