Overview

Under minimal supervision is responsible for day to day activities of directing, controlling and coordinating all phases of the Maintenance Department. Support plant facilities and equipment maintenance to provide quality products in an efficient and profitable manner.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and directs all the operations of the Maintenance Department
  • Develops and implements, all aspects of a software driven preventative and predictive maintenance program for all machinery in the plant
  • Assesses maintenance and equipment performance and develops a predictive and proactive plan
  • Provides technical leadership in project management and insures compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Participates in receiving, installing and validating performance of all production equipment and company initiatives
  • Develops and implements safety compliance with all OSHA guidance for the plant and for all employees in the Maintenance Department
  • Developing written procedures to ensure “Best Practices” for every duty in the Maintenance Department
  • Conducts daily inspections and spot inspections and plant “walk through” to identify maintenance needs in the plant
  • Insure  all machinery and equipment is in prime working order in the machine shop and assembly department
  • Minimizes down time and improve production time through analysis of equipment improvements. Shall track up time of key equipment
  • Implements all Company Policies and Procedures to ensure a safe, friendly and legally compliant workplace for all employees
  • Ensures compliance with all safety rules and procedures within the company
  • Reviews the performance of all associates in the Maintenance Department
  • Works within constraints of the annual maintenance budget

 Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Team of 3 to 5 maintenance helpers and one lead person

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and Skill Qualifications

 

  • Technical four (4) year degree from accredited campus
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Candidate should have 3-5 years supervisory experience
  • The Supervisor must be flexible and be able to work occasionally on scheduled days off and evenings if necessary
  • Shall be experienced with programmable logic controllers (PLC)
  • Shall be experienced with Computerized Numerical Controlled (CNC) Mills and Lathes
  • Microsoft office applications, including project
  • Good communication and supervisory skills

 

  1. Physical Demand
    • Moderate lifting up to 40 lbs.

 

  1. Work Environment
  • Up to 85% time spent walking on manufacturing/assembly floor
  • Work is performed under the following conditions:

 

Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment; sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time; vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen.  Moderate physical exertion is required due to occasional bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, walking and standing.  Must carry/lift/push or pull loads of up to 40 lbs. Must be skilled with basic hand tools and power tools.

  • Must wear steel toe shoes and safety glasses when in the plant
  • Must comply with Job Safety Analysis (JSA), all applicable safety and environmental rules and regulations.
