Delivers passionate and extensive product training (applications, hardware, and operating system software) to our valued customers. Installs and configures system hardware and integrates to complex networks at customer sites. Ensures full understanding and utilization of any and all Snap-on Business Solutions’ applications and/or products.


  1. *Schedule travel plans to customer sites on a weekly basis, once work assignment has been received.
  2. *Perform a pre-installation inspection for site readiness to include electrical, environmental, and network connectivity to ensure hardware, network, and customer needs are all addressed.
  3. Complete on-site training needs analysis and formulate on-site training plan during on-site installation.
  4. *Clearly communicate electrical, environmental, physical network, and system requirements to the customers.
  5. *Notify appropriate individuals immediately if there are any issues of concern that do not conform to our established specifications.
  6. *Verify that all hardware has been delivered, unpack equipment and inspect for damage.
  7. Install and configure system hardware and networking equipment including but not limited to: switches, repeaters, Windows servers, Windows standalones and clients, network laser printers, hard disk drives and DVD drives. Position each component, making certain that sufficient space is available for airflow, use and maintenance.
  8. *Install connectivity to all dealer management, communication and part locator systems.
  9. *Check to ensure system is operating properly.
  10. *Provide in-depth, initial and advance training of SBS automotive products and its relationship to dealer management/communication systems to all end users, on-site and remote.
  11. *Complete mandatory administrative duties within the required time guidelines: Detailed installation/training reports and expense reports completed and submitted by established guidelines.
  12. *Perform follow-up site audits, as required.
  13. *Provide sales support as needed.
  14. Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships between Training & Installation and Customers Technical Support, Hardware/Software Engineers, Sales, Product Management, Software Quality Assurance and service provider(s).
  15. Perform the duties of a Field Service Engineer, when necessary, to troubleshoot, diagnose, correct and repair equipment and/or systems at customer sites, with assistance of Technical Support, when necessary.
  16. *Assist with new and ongoing training of Field Installation and Training Specialists-(FITS), Technical Support and Sales Representatives and other associates, as required.
  17. Assist Training & Installation Management with special projects, as required.
  18. Participate in early stages of product development, whenever possible, and assist in the field alpha and beta testing of new products, providing feedback where appropriate. Participate in new product training for the department and other departments as necessary.
  19. Gather customer feedback, product issues and enhancement request. Report these using Snap-on bug and request tracking tool.
  20. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.



  1. Associates Degree in IT and or Business.  
  2. Minimum of one year field service and/or training experience is required.
  3. Previous experience with Microsoft Operating Systems required; Microsoft certifications preferred. Also required is previous experience with Ethernet networking principles.
  4. High degree of maturity and motivation is needed due to extensive travel required to perform job duties.
  5. Strong decision making skills.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with customers and associates in a knowledgeable, professional manner, at all levels.
  7. Strong communication skills, written and oral.
  8. Strong organizational and time management skills
  9. Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  10. Ability to work in a fast paced often tension filled atmosphere and successfully cope with occasional highly stressful situations.
  11. Ability to travel extensively (95-100%) travel.
  12. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  13. Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle for business travel use.
  14. Valid U.S. passport.
