Manager, District Build-A-Bay Sales

Responsible for maintaining and growing Snap-on Business Solutions (BAB) through a variety of consultation and sales activities directly to automotive dealerships (OEM repair facilities), Industrial, Enterprise, and OEM accounts in assigned regions. In addition, responsible to work directly with SBS Regional Managers in assigned regions. Long-term relationship development with OEM personnel and Industrial Reps and Industrial managers. Develop strong relationships with BAB distributors and recruit new ones. Develop and implement short and long-term strategies to increase BAB sales to the OEM dealerships, Industrial and Enterprise accounts.


  1. Build-A-Bay sales direction, forecasting, expense management, competitive intelligence and managing sales activity to accomplish all SBS objectives.      
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OEM tool storage and parts room needs, industry trends, and competitive products.
  3. Communicate and work effectively with both internal and external sales channels to increase Tool Storage market share for SBS OEM programs and Industrial.
  4. Develop and implement new and expanded sales and marketing strategies to increase tool storage solution business.
  5. Work with SBS Regional Managers and other sales leaders and sales associates to achieve high levels of activity that drives results.
  6. Attend National and Regional OEM, Industrial and Enterprise meetings and equipment shows as required.
  7. Review all aspects of Build-A-Bay market analysis to determine customer/prospect preference.
  8. Ability to fulfill above average customer expectations and support including customer complaints and problem solving.
  9. Establish and maintains a close working relationship with OEM, Industrial and Enterprise customers so that they are aware of and reliant upon all of SBS capabilities and resources.
  10. Educate, inform and enhance SBS image and perception to the assigned OEM, Industrial and Enterprise accounts.
  11. Anticipates customer needs and develop business proposals for Tool Storage Solutions in support of SBS growth goals.
  12. Drive sales associates (SBS ~ RM) accountability for the successful sales of all assigned tool storage parts room solutions.
  13. Use SBS customer retention management application to track customer sales progress.
  14. Is willing to undertake appropriately other duties and assignments as determined by BAB Product Manager.
  15. Contact and actively follow-up on all Build-A-Bay leads and update BAB Product Manager on lead status as required.
  16. Maintain a current Build-A-Bay forecast to include all activity, new sales opportunities, existing, and new signed orders as required by the BAB Product Manager.
  17. Establish new and maintain existing relationships with distributors, participators, and installers for sales of all Snap-on and Non-Snap on Branded Build-A-Bay product line.
  18. Responsible to accomplish the sales plan and growth for Build-A-Bay sales in assigned District.


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred or equivalent experience. MBA a plus.
  2. Extensive sales experience in the automotive industry working with clients at all levels. 5-years min. experience requirement.
  3. Exceptional interpersonal impact with proven ability to bring parties together in pursuit of mutual goals and objectives.
  4. Ability to translate vision into action and to successfully steer others toward an agreed upon outcome.
  5. Demonstrated ability to build strong business relationships with customers.
  6. Successful experience achieving expected results working in a matrix organization. Past performance reflecting the ability to operate with only occasional supervision.
  7. Ability to travel as necessary to meet objectives – up to 80% travel is required.
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
