Overview

Back-end Java developer working with a team to maintain and enhance application that process interactions with multiple POS and ERP systems in a Wild Fly environment. It also requires ability to analyze and support existing applications, scripts and interfaces. The position involves working on complete development life cycle and interaction with internal and external application teams and server admin teams. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate software programming activities in tandem with other software development team members
  • Conduct application monitoring and performance tuning
  • Execute full development life cycle of IT applications including design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance
  • Perform project management tasks and use technical expertise to facilitate implementation of technology projects
  • Document Standard Operating Procedures for routine tasks
  • Given a moderately complex business or technical issue, analyze and determine the root cause. Implement short and long term resolutions.
  • Work effectively in a team environment on all phases of projects
  • Interface with internal teams to achieve key objectives 
  • Demonstrate good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Exercise independent judgement in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Maintain audit compliance and understanding of risk profile 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors (combination of degrees allowed in computer sciences) +3 years progressive I/T experience
  • Technical skills: Java EE, SQL, Shell script, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web servers and web services. Pluses but not required: Oracle, PL/SQL, Microsoft ASP.NET 
  • Back-end experience in Oracle Database design, SQL functions, stored procedures and packages
  • Experience in a UNIX and Windows environment
  • Uses skills with a full understanding of the industry best practices and established policies and procedures
  • In-depth understanding of software development life cycle
  • Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Understands the value and contributes to defining compliance and control requirements and documentation 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the applications being supported
  • Some travel may be required
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends in support of applications
