  • Overview


    Responsible for oversight of Pricing, Item Master, and Industrial business system support functions. Collaborating with Industrial functional leaders, improve process discipline and standardize work to reduce cost and complexity, and drive consistent use of analytics into decision-making across the business. Partnering with Corporate IT, define and prioritize business requirements, and facilitate and accelerate collaboration on system projects enabling the runways for growth, and optimized business operations. Oversees team of 9 associates (two with dotted line reporting).


    • Oversee Item Master, Pricing and Industrial I/T teams; collaborate with Corporate IT and other work groups on communication and testing for on-time and error-free pricing and item updates as required by the business. Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all pricing and item master functions.
    • Evangelize the use of Tableau for data analytics across the business and become an expert; prioritize requirements and accelerate collaboration with Corporate IT on dashboards and related projects. Standardize reporting where possible and significantly reduce the need for one-off queries.
    • Ownership of regulatory requirements as needed in customer contracts; work with Legal and IT on system requirements, set up and maintain a policy document repository and maintain and audit as required to ensure the business is compliant with all contract requirements.
    • Prioritize and define business requirements as needed, and collaborate and support the application road map provided by Corporate IT; configure existing systems, and engage as required to lead sign-off on functional specifications, user acceptance testing and deployment plans including user communication and training for new or improved systems
    • Drive operational improvements that can be achieved through systems and collaborate with Corporate IT to prioritize and deliver
    • Work with IT to reduce risk and simplify system operations where possible; decommission legacy applications, eliminate redundant systems, standardize support and escalation processes to improve service, create SOPs and documentation for all business-specific applications and consistently use and participate in standard IT change management
    • Escalate high priority and technical support needs to Corporate IT
    • Acts as a change agent for new business processes; creates collaborative link between business groups to drive best practices
    • Understand the business vision and needs
    • Lead project management and put PM tools and disciplines in place across the team. Partner with IT on schedules, and build and maintain project plans. Communicate status up weekly; monthly for steering team meetings.



    • Bachelor’s degree in I/T, Business Operations, Project Management or related field
    • 3-5 years of experience in leading projects and implementations
    • Requires previous experience, knowledge of finance and general business operations
    • Effectively communicate technical and system concepts in plain, business language, both verbally and in writing.
    • Strong understanding of process discipline and ability to execute as it relates to mitigating risk with business systems; SOPs, documentation, testing processes, knowledge-bases, change management, project management tools
    • Ability to tailor communications to different audiences.  Communicates effectively and with confidence to cross-functional groups
    • Proficient in Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.
    • Proficiency in LN is a plus; including sessions and configurations unique to Industrial business operations
    • Understanding of pricing and item master functions for LN
    • Ability to document business requirements that can be converted to functional specifications for application development
    • Tableau skills and understanding of data requirements
    • Fundamental understanding of web applications, ecommerce and edi
    • Knowledge of supply chain operations
    • Ability to prioritize business requirements and communicate to IT – written and verbal
    • Experience understanding of software development, testing; knowledge of agile processes is a plus
    • Ability to created professional presentations appropriate for target audience
    • Comprehensive understanding of applicable business systems, processes, and industry requirements
    • Understands financial and operational implications of business process technologies to the customer’s current and future business environment & sets expectations accordingly
    • Can advise on major business processes and has thorough knowledge of inter-related operations within the company
    • May work at various Snap-on facilities for extended periods of time. Some overnight travel will be required.
