  • Overview

    This 2nd shift position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day department workflow within a warehouse environment to provide quality and timely service to our customers. Responsibilities include training associates in department tasks, procedures and systems, identifying and recommending solutions to departmental issues and/or customer concerns,setting priorities in the department based on management direction, and cross training across departments and shifts.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists in the developing job assignments for employees. Advises employees in their wide range of daily activities, ensuring priorities are expedited and/or met.
    • Provides on-going training for new and existing employees on various department tasks, procedures and systems.
    • Participates in setting department goals and achieving measurable results.
    • Assists management in scheduling and conducting departmental meetings and training sessions.
    • Assists employees with streamlining daily work flow.
    • Assists management by identifying, reporting, and resolving any internal business and personnel issues and complaints.
    • Assists in assessing employee performance.
    • Assists in creating a safe and healthy work environment.
    • Assists in maintaining Inventory Control.
    • Compiles and communicate productivity results to employees as directed by the supervisor.
    • Performs job functions following all documented procedures safely and accurately.
    • Strives for a continuous improvement mindset in all tasks.

     

     

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent plus associates degree or pursuing college degree in business or related field or 5 years’ experience in distribution, management or related position.
    • Previous warehousing, material handling, shipping/receiving, computer terminal use and/or forklift experience needed.
    • Must be dependable, willing to work overtime and adjust schedule per business demands.
    • Basic knowledge of computers and the ability to train others on general computer functions where needed. Well-grounded in applications relating to distribution.
    • Must have effective communication skills and ability to interact with coworkers and other associates.
    • Must hold and maintain all required credentials.
    • Familiarity with continuous improvement processes and ability to communicate ideas to management, is a plus.
    • Ability to frequently crouch, keel, stand, stoop and walk. Ability to walk up & down stairs/ladders, occasionally balance, climb, crawl or sit.
    • Ability to reach and grasp work and repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.
