  • Overview

    Responsible for directly working with all global Snap‑on locations/companies, Import Analyst, Finance, Logistics, Compliance director, US & Non-US Forwarders/brokers, International Sales Team, Customer Service, Vendors & Customers to review & analyze various Snap‑on and US Customs programs and processes to apply new programs or program revisions to Snap‑on's compliance & logistics programs. Additional responsibilities to include – As assigned by supervisor. Fill an export/import compliance role within a dynamic International Trade Compliance team, overall responsibility to increase compliance capabilities, reduce company risk, reduce costs and reduce related customs/customer service related issues/expenses. Participate in projects to enhance trade compliance efficiency and value contribution. Assist and Collaborate with compliance team on company-wide policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US and foreign import and export regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee/coordinate with Snap‑on finance, logistics and import brokers the audit of import transactions, calculate applicable import duties & fees and reconcile monthly bank statement applicable to the operation of the monthly US Customs Periodic Monthly Statement (PMS) program.
    • As the designated Snap-on US import record keeper, oversee/coordinate with all Snap‑on US importing entities, logistics & import brokers the collection & review of import records. (electronic record keeping in Paperwise and/or Integration Point (IP).
    • Analyze participation in various free trade agreements (FTA’s) (e.g. NAFTA, DR-CAFTA, US-AU, KORUS) researching BOM’s and rules of origin for application in Snap-on’s import or export of goods.
    • Develop process improvements with Snap-on’s third party contractor (CTI-STV) to solicit supplier origin data, audit supplier data input into the STV site through comparison with LN and compliance team data, Train Snap-on suppliers, customers internal Snap-on personnel and import brokers in the proper use of the STV site and improve the creation and validation of Snap-on and Snap-on customer certificates of origin and back up FTA documentation.
    • Explain & train both Snap-on colleagues and customers in the use of complex regulatory programs & processes.
    • Work with Snap‑on’s various import brokers to improve current recordkeeping and PMS processes, including the training of new broker partners.
    • Travel, as required, to various supplier and Snap‑on US locations to work directly with personnel to train & improve compliance capabilities.
    • As the designated Snap-on Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) account holder, daily review CBP ACE communications, perform system administrator function, create & review ACE data reports for various Snap-on corporate personnel, use ACE data as part of the PMS process.
    • As the co-designated Snap-on C-TPAT administrator, assist both internal and external customers with proper application of C-TPAT program requirements. Review annual supplier C-TPAT certifications electronically submitted through the STV site.
    • Monitor and assist with resolving import brokerage issues; Noted within broker inbox, compliance inbox, FTA inbox, PMS inbox and IP inbox.
    • Assist with the implementation of the IP Import Entry Verification module (IP)
    • Review compliance email alerts regarding revisions to regulations and/or documentation and communicating the impact of proposed regulatory changes
    • Review and update as necessary compliance documentation, such as- broker SOP, Import & export compliance manuals, PMS process & form and other related compliance documents.
    • Assist in translating various documents & forms into Spanish
    • Act as the compliance lead in creating monthly compliance reports for use in the monthly Global Sourcing call-KPI’s
    • Act as the compliance team lead LN query report creator
    • Assist/coordinates with any special projects requested or assigned by manager.
    • Assist with NAFTA Reconcilation program on a monthly basis for all Snap-on locations.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain and/or international business
    • Prefer current CCS or CES (Certified Customs Specialist or Certified Export Specialist) certification
    • Highly qualified/experienced in Excel. Access skills would be a great bonus
    • Prefer a candidate who is highly qualified/capable of using LN, including query writing
    • Capable of researching and assembling data, then presenting that data in a user friendly format
    • Prefer a candidate who is highly qualified/experienced in using IP – Integration Point, including query/report writing
    • Experience using various government and supplier (broker) data bases/On-Line IT data bases
    • Capable of researching & applying various Customs related process/programs, such as – FTA & PGA issues
    • Capable of working with all Snap-on business units and operational areas within Snap-on. Cross divisional abilities
    • Capable of working directly with Snap-on suppliers & customers
    • Experienced in international trade – sales, customer service, logistics & regulatory requirements/documentation
    • Capable of reading and applying complex regulatory language/requirements
    • Must be capable of working in a very high energy dynamic work environment
    • Must be very flexible in project work & work re-assignments

    • Quick learner with a desire to continually learn new  skills/application for those skills
    • Prefer candidate that can work toward their US Customs Brokers License within 3-years or an existing licensed Customer Broker
