    Snap-on Tools seeks an Planner for  its Elizabethton, Tennessee facility located at 2195 Stateline Road, a 180K square foot manufacturing facility that manufactures hand tools such as wrenches, ratchets, pry bars, punches, chisels, pullers, etc.  The plant has approximately 400 employees operating five days per week, three shifts per day.


    Position Summary:  Performs daily functions of reviewing demand and appropriately scheduling this demand through the manufacturing process to insure 95% COT (Complete and On-Time) to all customers.   In addition, releases to component suppliers will be managed relative to manufacturing schedule generated.  Interaction with purchasing, manufacturing and engineering departments to insure optimum results are required. 




    1. Confirm, maintain and generate manufacturing schedules in MRP System to support required customer requirements.
    2. Interact with and release product from suppliers to support manufacturing demand.
    3. Monitor and analyze inventory (mfg & component) levels to meet predetermined requirements.
    4. Chair daily manufacturing scheduling meetings to review demand requirements are being met.
    5. Monitor and report on schedule adherence to schedules generated for manufacturing.
    6. Review and analyze rescheduling process to meet manufacturing demand
    7.  Promote continuous improvement methods relative to scheduling/planning.
    8. Development and maintenance of inventory plan for scheduled items to meet goals and objectives of the plant.





    Associate degree required – (Bachelor’s degree preferred) with a strong analytical background.


    1 to 3 years working in a scheduling in a planning group serving in a manufacturing environment.


    Knowledge of supply chain and lean manufacturing principles.  APICS certification preferred.


    Strong communication skills to interact with cell, internal and external customers.  Professional manner with good customer service skills.


    Experience in working with Baan software (planning perspective) and Microsoft Office products.


    Ability to analyze and present data through the use of spreadsheets.


    Potential to assist cell leads with projects of a greater scope.
