  • Overview

    Responsible for planning, developing, designing and implementing, both domestic and international marketing programs for assigned products. Work under the direction and mentorship of a product manager or director of product management. Coordinates and oversees the execution of advertising and promotional programs to ensure profits meet objectives. Negotiates with outside vendors as appropriate. May research, identify and evaluate potential new products. Identify and resolve brand and channel conflict.

    Responsibilities

    Manage brand, channel positioning, and establish pricing strategies.

    Gap Analysis – major initiatives to determine new product and business opportunities, market research and analysis, evaluation of business and profitability potential.

    Competitive Assessment – obtains and analyzes competitor positions, product offerings, markets and performance.

    Position Analysis – analyzes and evaluates product position, channels, launch, timing and other factors.

    Marketing Plans/Launch Plans – develop and implement product/regional specific plans that achieve market share/profit objectives.

    Manage Product Life Cycles – manage requirements necessary to execute all phases of the product life cycle from new product proposals to product discontinuance. Analyze product lines for life cycle changes and recommend strategies to affect life cycle conditions.

    Perform/Execute PDC requirement

    New Product Innovation – participate in as a member of the new product team to ensure continuity of ideas from concept to profitable product offerings.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or engineering; MBA preferred
    • Thorough understanding of business operations and finance
    • 3-5 years cross-functional experience in one or more of the following areas: engineering design, manufacturing, marketing, distribution or sales.
    • Knowledge of industrial and critical industries, both domestic and international, a plus
    • Must hold and maintain all requirements for assigned customer accounts.

    • Approximately 5-10% travel is required (may include international travel).

    • Direct Persuasion – convinces others by presenting logical arguments and using language tailored to audience
